Hello WBOA,
I hope you have been enjoying your summer. It has been a bit soggy and that has given me the opportunity to catch up on all the inside work on my 'to-do' list including writing this message!
On July 17 we had our annual summer retreat at the home of Freda Brown. It was the perfect space for our board to get a bit of business done and for relaxing, dining and even a bit of swimming. We were lucky...it was one of those 'sunny' days that showed up this summer.
We covered a lot of ground and identified our vision for the year ahead. Hot of the newsprint, here it is....
Increase the visibility and credibility of the WBOA and it's members.

Annual Woman of the Year Event on June 12, 2008 at the Delaney House, Holyoke, MA
Christine Burns of Clowntique nominated WBOA 2008 Woman of the Year
256 Maple Street, Holyoke, MA 01040
Christine Burns is owner of Clowntique, a family entertainment company based in Holyoke, MA.
Christine is originally from Palmer, where her parents still reside, but currently lives in Northampton with her husband Patrick and 4 year old daughter Pearl.
Her entertainment career started at a young age with dance lessons and high school plays but unlike many others Christine’s love of performing never waned. She went on to study musical theater, interning at the Coach Light Dinner Theater and the old Stage West.
She started Clowntique 10 years ago after a career in Children’s Theater, spending 13 years touring the country with stage shows such as Alvin and the Chipmunks Rockin’ through the Decades and the Magic School Bus. Christine opened CLOWNTIQUE in January of 1999 and has since provided entertainment to corporate and private clients throughout New England and New York.
Clowntique employs approximately a dozen very talented entertainers from magicians to Santa Claus and more.
Please join us on June 12, 2008 at the Delaney House’s where WBOA will honor Christine’s accomplishments.
