Breakfast: Fear Not Networking—You’ve Been Doing it All Along!
March 15 @ 7:45 am - 9:30 am$20
In business, we’re told we need to network, network, network. Some of us go straight to our social media and make “friends.” Some of us bite our nails and show up at events hoping to meet strangers we can give our elevator pitches to. Some of us do both. But that’s not the complete story of networking. Networking is something you’ve been good at all your life—something you already instinctually do. It’s about meeting new people you come to know if not very well, well enough so that they know you, trust you, and like you. They’re friendships you can turn to when you want to make a referral. Or friendships where they’ll turn to others they know–and make a referral to you—because you now have a real relationship.
In this talk you’ll learn how to appreciate what you already know about networking and learn what not to do, what to keep doing, and what to start doing so that networking feels like second-nature to you.
Ditch the elevator pitch and your networking slog. Build meaningful business connections for the long run.
Moe Belliveau is the Executive Director of the Easthampton Chamber of Commerce, a position she came to after an interior designer career in the corporate world, and then as a wellness entrepreneur as a massage therapist. As the head of the Chamber she comes honestly to her observations on the fears and aspirations of business owners who come to the Chamber to grow their businesses and, in part, to network.
